This week was shorter than I would've liked....still not used to this schedule. Although, can't say I was particularly wild about what we did this week. I feel like I'm the karate kid since I'm thinking "LET'S GET TO PROGRAMMING!" but first, we have to do a bunch of stuff we don't want to do.
I'm sure it'll come in handy...eventually. Hopefully...

In any case, the most fun activity we did was on Thursday, with those odd problem-solving...problems. The wording made them a bit confusing, and at times I just wanted to make some kind of snarky remark as an answer, but eventually we [think we] figured it out.

I think I liked that last problem the most, though. It was easier to visualize for me than the others.

Blog the Second!

Not nearly as late as the first one!
Had quite a bit of fun this week, even though I ended up only being in class one day (I got sick on Friday)
From what I did get to be in this week, though, I really liked. I had already known about Wordle, but I hadn't been on it in quite a while and it was really fun to play with it and find all the words that are constantly repeated in websites I take part on (like my personal blog, etc)

I also liked finding that odd, Glogster website. While I wouldn't use it to try and make anything proffessional, I find that it's fun to mess with it and it helps me get ideas flowing for something I'd like to design myself. I really like doing design-related things, but I don't really like it when everything's pre-made for you which is why I don't incredibly love that Glogster feature. I liked drawing with other people on it though, it was fun to draw over everyone else's drawings and it was kind of like having a doodle war! I'll have to catch up and see what I missed on Friday!

Post the First

It's really embarrassing that this is so incredibly late...doing homework assignments due online isn't usually one of the usual things I remember, so I should really mark this as important in my calendar.
In any case, this week (of Aug 28-Sept 3)was fun, got to learn about different types of computers, which is great, because, even though the interview wasn't about me, I've been meaning to get a new computer and I got to learn about a lot of cool ones that I'd be interested in saving up for. Specially laptops, as I didn't know that they were actually capable of doing all a desktop computer can do.
I also did read Blown to Bits, and while I haven't gotten to the report yet, I have to say, all that information is something that's come across to me, but I never really dwelled on. A lot of the things that they've said, like how an image is just a bunch of bits that the computer knows how to arrange, seems incredibly confusing and perhaps impossible, but in the end, I suppose I wouldn't expect a computer to see things, like we might.
When I read about the technological revolution, it makes me worry a bit, to be honest. I imagine that if for some terrible reason, all technological things were to shut off at a random moment, the world would undoubtedly go into chaos. People wouldn't be able to communicate, I'm sure many would die. Lots would not have access to important documents, that, because now physical documents are obsolete, would make their lives much harder.
Worse yet, to even think of, is if all the information stored in the massive amount of technological objects we have were to be deleted, the world would go into an indescribable panic.
I suppose we can only hope that never happens!

Wordle is AWESOME. I posted the link to my blog outside this and this is what came up. Ravenclaw is in there around 3 times....
