Post the First

It's really embarrassing that this is so incredibly late...doing homework assignments due online isn't usually one of the usual things I remember, so I should really mark this as important in my calendar.
In any case, this week (of Aug 28-Sept 3)was fun, got to learn about different types of computers, which is great, because, even though the interview wasn't about me, I've been meaning to get a new computer and I got to learn about a lot of cool ones that I'd be interested in saving up for. Specially laptops, as I didn't know that they were actually capable of doing all a desktop computer can do.
I also did read Blown to Bits, and while I haven't gotten to the report yet, I have to say, all that information is something that's come across to me, but I never really dwelled on. A lot of the things that they've said, like how an image is just a bunch of bits that the computer knows how to arrange, seems incredibly confusing and perhaps impossible, but in the end, I suppose I wouldn't expect a computer to see things, like we might.
When I read about the technological revolution, it makes me worry a bit, to be honest. I imagine that if for some terrible reason, all technological things were to shut off at a random moment, the world would undoubtedly go into chaos. People wouldn't be able to communicate, I'm sure many would die. Lots would not have access to important documents, that, because now physical documents are obsolete, would make their lives much harder.
Worse yet, to even think of, is if all the information stored in the massive amount of technological objects we have were to be deleted, the world would go into an indescribable panic.
I suppose we can only hope that never happens!
